چکیده

PurposeTo evaluate the role of ultrasonography (US) in differentiating anastomotic biliary strictures (AS) and non-anastomotic (NAS) after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT).MethodThis retrospective study included 1259 OLT recipients between 2005−2018. Seventy-six with 103 were analyzed. The reference standard was cholangiography. sensitivity, specificity, accuracy US evaluated.ResultsThere significant differences AS NAS groups (p < 0.001) for skipped irregular dilatation intrahepatic bile duct visualization hilar lumen. better imaging feature poorly visualized non- visible luminal contour. specificity 94.2 %, 84.2 % 88.9 respectively. Combined two predictors greatly increased to 93.4 while diminished its sensitivity accuracy.ConclusionUS is useful efficient differentiate OLT.

Characteristics of fecal microbial communities in patients with non-anastomotic biliary strictures after liver transplantation

AIM To explore the possible relationship between fecal microbial communities and non-anastomotic stricture (NAS) after liver transplantation (LT). METHODS A total of 30 subjects including 10 patients with NAS, 10 patients with no complications after LT, and 10 non-LT healthy individuals were enrolled. Fecal microbial communities were assessed by the 16S rRNA gene sequencing technology. RESU...

Endoscopic Management of Anastomotic Strictures after Liver Transplantation

Endoscopic treatment of biliary strictures involving plastic stent placement has been used widely. The use of self-expandable metal stents (SEMSs) has been described for anastomotic strictures following liver transplantation (LT). This review aimed to assess and compare the efficacy of plastic stents with SEMS in LT patients. Information was retrieved regarding technical success, stricture reso...

Biliary Strictures after Liver Transplantation

Biliary strictures are one of the most common complications following liver transplantation, representing an important cause of morbidity and mortality in transplant recipients. The reported incidence of biliary stricture is 5% to 15% following deceased donor liver transplantations and 28% to 32% following living donor liver transplantations. Bile duct strictures following liver transplantation...

Endoscopic Treatment of Anastomotic Biliary Stenosis in Patients With Orthotopic Liver Transplantation

The choledocho-choledochostomy stricture is one of the most frequent complications occurring after liver transplantation. Today endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography may be considered one of the most common methodologic approaches for the diagnosis; at the same time it provides an effective treatment of the stenosis, avoiding more invasive surgery. Biliary flow through a strictured ana...

Management of Biliary Strictures After Liver Transplantation.

Strictures of the bile duct are a well-recognized complication of liver transplant and account for more than 50% of all biliary complications after deceased donor liver transplant and living donor liver transplant. Biliary strictures that develop after transplant are classified as anastomotic strictures or nonanastomotic strictures, depending on their location in the bile duct. The incidence, e...
